HIPAA Education

All faculty and staff of the University of Chicago Medical Center are required to take HIPAA Privacy and Security training within 45 days of being hired. This is usually accomplished through an employee's attendance at either New Employee Orientation (Medical Center or BSD).

Online HIPAA training options are available. To take the online training, click here. Be sure that you have disabled your pop-up blocker in order for the training application to launch properly. Also, in order to take online training, you must have a User ID supplied by the Office of Medical Center Compliance. Call 4-4516 or 4-4517 for more information.

If you need proof that you have successfully taken the online HIPAA training, you can request a Certificate of Completion via this email address: certificates@bsd.uchicago.edu. Please supply your full name in your request and a web-based certificate will be emailed to you within 2 business days.
