Before discarding any computer, please contact Chicago Biomedicine Information Services (CBIS) at (773) 702-3456.  CBIS representatives will remove all data and software before the computer is discarded.  This centralized approach for disposal will minimize the chance of a breach from occurring.

Additionally, to better ensure patient privacy and information security, please do not place computers in the Medical Center's basement for disposal and do not go through the NSIT Computer Recycling Program to dispose or donate UCMC/BSD computers.
